Helen truly is The Biggest Loser, of a mother, that is……She selfishly let her daughter go home. What kind of mom does that? Her husband is probably next…..She will want to upgrade…………..
helen was the least of my favorites. when she left the ranch she was at 105 pounds weight loss, how did she lose 35 pounds in 2 weeks. mike was inspiring. he just kept going. tara was also an inspiration. she set her mind to it and did it helen helen just whined.
I agree, Helen is selfish, selfish, selfish. I do not understand how she could throw her own daughter under the bus like that. She let her daughter go home, when she obviously needed to be there more than Helen. Very disappointing result. By the way, I think she looked horrible last night–much too thin!! Tara looked just right, fabulous! Wish the winner had been Tara!
The only good thing coming out of this will be that Helen will undoubtedly be seen on Oprah in 18 months, explaining how she gained all the weight back and whining that she now has no more family support because she has thrown both her daughter and her husband under the bus. A parent is supposed to take a bullet for their kid, not discard them when it’s convenient. Hopefully, her daughter will be able to keep her weight off, despite Helen. My advice to her husband is that he grab his half of the money now, before she ditches him the same way she did her daughter!
Although I don’t know her, Helen seemed like quite the back stabber throughout the show. How did lose all weight so quickly?? She looked like skin and bones. The name of the show is not the biggest anorexic! Mike or Tara really deserved the title. It’s ok though, I’m sure they’ll get many endorsement deals.
Selfish, selfish Helen………The “ultimate loser” (of a mother)……..After her daughter went home, she told others that they were like daughters to her. Well, we all saw what she did to her daughter.
I really believe that she starved herself for the money. She never pulled big enough numbers on the show to have lost that much, that fast. Also, she only 48 and had the arms of a 65-year-old.
You’re right dale, we’ll be seeing her 30 lbs heavier soon enough (not that I wish it, just a fact).
Im glad to see im not the only one who doesnt like Helen. As a mother i couldn’t believe it when she convinced her daughter to go home and she should stay, the nerve. How did she drop all that extra weight in such a short time and at the same time age 10 years. With all that weight loss her body and face makes her look way beyond her age instead of 48 she looks 58. Not a good looking winner. Mike and Tara looked fabulous.
What a hag !!! She is so bent on being the winner she convinces her daughter she could do better at home. See the results Helen !!! Enjoy spending the 250k , its a far to high a price to pay for your dignity.
I agree with everything already stated. This woman irrated me all through the season. When she manipulated her daughter into volunteering to go home, I was livid. A good mother would never do that. I would do anything for my daughter. There would not have been any discussion about who was going home. It would have been me!!! That’s what a loving parent would do. This woman is self-center and spoiled. When she has her “chest lifted” her husband better see the hand writing on the wall. She will be looking for greener pastures.
I agree, Helen was very selfish and done her daughter so wrong. But I really did not want Tara to win either. I felt like she wanted to act like she knew it all
you know what. Good for Helen. Yeah I did not think she was going to win. Yeah I thought she was selfish. Yeah I think Tara perfomed better over all. But when it came down to it, Helen got it done. With her 250,000, she can buy alot of personal training for her daughter. What happens later, we shall see. But the bottom line, is Helen did it when it counted. It really looked like to me that Tara thought she had this thing locked up. I think Helen stunned her.
Helen brings a whole new meaning to “The Biggest Loser”. Of all the contestants from all the seasons, she truly is a loser. And a selfish one at that. Sending your own child home TWICE. Shannon obviously made some strides in the right direction and I hope that she doesn’t let her own mother’s callousness throw her off course. I got so tired of listening to Helen recite her script I fast forwarded over her segments for the past 6 weeks. SHE TOTALLY DISGUSTS ME!!!!!! I have lost over 200 pounds and still have 80 or so to go. I’m 48 and 5′6″, and would never want to weigh 117. She has no muscle she looks 20 years older than her age. If she really was “lifting truck tires” and “running stadium stairs” then where is the muscle to prove it? I can guarantee you that she went on the anorexia laxative diet to end up so skinny. I hope the $250,000 is enough to dry her tears, which she has plenty of, when she gains all the weight back.
In spite of the outcome, CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE OTHER CONTESTANTS, YOU ALL DID A MAGNIFICENT JOB, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!
Helen was my favorite from day 1, and I’m so glad she won. She was by no means “selfish.” If her daughter really wanted to stay, she should’ve stood up for herself, furthermore, Helen offered to go home that week. Think that was BS? Fine, then she played a great game. Either way, she was very deserving, and I don’t see her gaining all of the weight back- her work ethic in the gym is sensational. Helen set two Biggest Loser records: oldest contestant to win, and contestant with the most percentage of weight loss. For anyone to say she didn’t deserve it over Tara is obviously in the wrong.
As the mother of 7, 5 daughters, I think Helen is VERY SELFISH! Who sendstheir child home for their own self interest? Shame on her! I cannot be happy for her because she threw her daughter under the bus. I hope the money she won goes into a fitness and healthy eating plan for her daughter! What mother does that??!!!!!!
I have been wondering how in one week between the semi-final and the final they could lose so much weight…..
If Helen truly lost 30 pounds she would have to burn 105,000 calories ( 30 pounds * 3500 calories per pound). If a person could expend 500 calories in a hour then it would take 8.75 days to burn off all those calories (105,000 cal / 500 calories per hour / 24 hours per day). This would also mean there would be no intake of calories and work out continuously 24 hours a day with no sleep for 8.75 days…
This can’t be achieved even by Jack LaLanne in his prime.
Mike lost 33 pounds which equates to 115,500 calories which may take over 9.6 days to burn.
Tara lost 20 pounds which equates to 70,000 calories which may take over 8.3 days to burn.
Ron lost 41 pounds which equates to 143,500 calories which could take 12 days to burn.
Helen’s daughter won’t see a dime of the money. Helen is in love with Helen……..Most moms would do ANYTHING for their children. You protect them without even thinking, it’s instinct for “most” moms. Helen isn’t like “most” moms……………A “real” mom is selfless NOT selfish……….
I personally was hoping Mike would win!! He is l8 years old and he needed somebodys help in a bad way. I am so proud of him, and I pray that he is able to keep it all off. He has his whole life ahead of him and with the help of this show he has gotten a great start. And he has a beautifull smile!! Ha Ha
I was disappointed with Helen’s win, I feel sorry for her daughter, she too is a beautiful young woman. And I also pray for her, I was really proud of these young adults in this program. they are all winners in my eyes!!
It looks like I am with the majority. I think she planned her “finish” all along. She played team members against each other and bluntly stab others. This is a person with some serious priority issues. Tara and Mike have inspired me. They are truly the winners, even without the money.
Congratulations Helen!! What an accomplishment. 48 and she rocked it ~ YA!! Those kids did not expect (as well as anyone else obviously – looking at these blogs) her to come from behind and take the title. I love that she showed all season it was possible for someone older to work hard and win this game as well as win her life back. I loved watching the marathon, and I think because she worked harder she made these kids work hard. The competition they all had between them made them all work harder and hit milestones that the show has NEVER seen. If you look back at the previous years, many of the Biggest Losers did not come close to losing what these 3 lost. What a transformation. I am proud of all 3 contestants….but especially Helen You GO Girl!!
ksweezo, They were home more like 4-6 weeks before they went back for the finale. That’s why your figures for calories burned and pounds lost for 1 week didn’t add up ;0)

I have been saying it all day and I see it written here in print, “Helen threw her daughter under the bus”!!!
How can she stay at the ranch, yell I ran a marathon look at me and not feel bad she sent her daughter packing!! What out hubby you are next!!!
